Barry is an expert in international poverty and missions. He will spend some time at the luncheon talking about what God is doing in the world and how we can be involved with God’s work as well as answer questions you may have about the work of Compassion or some of Barry’s international experience.  

Rev.Dr. Barry Slauenwhite President Emeritus Having served with Compassion Canada since 1983, Barry Slauenwhite is a leading global voice and advocate for the poor. Barry has recently retired from his role as President/CEO and serves the ministry as President Emeritus using his gifts to advocate for children at risk.   As a pastor and ministry leader, Barry strives to promote holistic child development through the local church as one of the most effective kingdom building strategies available to the Christian world. His advocacy for the poor has brought him to more than 60 countries worldwide where he has witnessed extreme poverty firsthand – and had the joy of seeing lives transformed through Compassion’s ministry. Barry is the author of “Strategic Compassion” and is a sought-after speaker throughout Canada and internationally challenging Christians worldwide to look at poverty from a biblical perspective and evaluate current mission strategies. Barry and his wife, Sharon, live in London Ontario, and have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.
