Each summer TrueCity Churches work alongside Start2Finish to provide backpacks to students in the Hamilton Catholic and Public School systems. Not only does this annual volunteer effort provide vital school supplies to children from low-income families, but it gives our churches the chance to better engage with their local schools. As volunteers drop off the backpacks, they get to meet with the school staff and thank them for all the (often unappreciated) work they do for our city’s children. The backpack drop off is a fun and practical serve event, but it also can lead to a relationship between churches and schools, letting schools know that churches are there to support and bless them.
Contact Jenna at the office if you're interested in helping to pack school supplies into these backpacks, we'll meet at the Hamilton Central Library in Jackson Square Mall from 11am - 1pm.
Children are welcome to help out too!
